If you’re planning a Super Bowl party, you might want to serve this fun and delicious Football Shaped Bread Bowl With Spinach Dip. The bread bowl with spinach dip will make the perfect appetizer for all those hungry football fans!
What team are you cheering to win the Super Bowl? Honestly, I don’t care who wins the game. I’m hosting a Super Bowl party to have an excuse to have my family and friends over. I usually just watch the commercials and enjoy the food. I know my jersey-clad football fanatic guest will bring their hearty appetites. That’s why it’s important to me they enjoy the food I prepare. It’s the reason I chose to make the Football Shaped Bread Bowl With Spinach Dip, it looks and tastes great.
- 1 package (10 oz.) Frozen Chopped Spinach, thawed
- 1 package dry vegetable soup mix
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 loaves Italian Round Bakery Bread
- 1 red pepper
Drain spinach. Remove from the outer wrapper of the spinach and keep it in the paper box. Squeeze the box tightly between the palms of your hands over the sink to remove as much water as you can.
Remove spinach from the box and place into a mixing bowl. Add dry soup mix, mayonnaise, and sour cream. Stir well to combine. Refrigerate covered for 4 hours or overnight.
To make the bread bowl, you can freehand cut a football shape onto the bread, or create a small paper template as shown and cut around it.
To remove the bread in the center cut vertical slices then remove chunks of bread one at the time. Set the pieces of bread aside.
Spoon prepared spinach dip into the bread bowl. Top with one large sliced red pepper, and smaller pepper pieces to resemble football stitching.
Cut the reserved bread pieces with a bread knife, into 1″ dipping cubes. Cut the other loaf of bread into 1″ cubes for dipping. Serve immediately.
